1. A desiccant/filter assembly comprising(a) a pouch member comprising an interior adapted for reception of desiccant therein and an exterior composed of an air permeable material, said pouch member extending along its length from a proximate end to a distal end;(b) a support located exterior to and supporting said pouch member, with said pouch member mounted to said support; and(c) a filter attached to said support and located proximate one of said pouch member ends.
2. Assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said support is an elongated member having a proximate end and a distal end and wherein said proximate end of said pouch member is attached to said proximate end of said support and said distal end of said pouch is attached to said distal end of said support.
3. Assembly as recited in claim 2 wherein said pouch member comprises a pouch extension, said filter comprising an open area formed at one end of said support with said pouch extension extending over said open area to provide a filter medium.
4. Apparatus as recited in claim 2 wherein said filter is integral with said support and located at one end of said support.
5. Assembly as recited in claim 4 wherein said filter comprises a cage member and a filter medium as a co-molded assembly
6. Apparatus as recited in claim 2 wherein said filter is detachably mounted to one end of said support.
7. Apparatus as recited in claim 3 wherein said pouch extension comprises a flap located at one end of said pouch and wherein said flap is secured over said open area.
8. Apparatus as recited in claim 7 wherein said support comprises an elongated band having a generally planar section contiguous to said pouch member and a filter support surface with an aperture therein angularly extending from said band at one of said band ends and defining said open area, said flap fixedly secured over said aperture.
9. Apparatus as recited in claim 3 wherein said pouch extension comprises a sleeve extension of said pouch, one end of said support comprising a tubular collar, wherein said sleeve extension and said collar are fixedly attached to each other to define said filter.
10. Apparatus as recited in claim 9 further comprising a cap received in said collar and a stand off support extending from said cap away from said pouch member.
11. Apparatus as recited in claim 1 wherein said support comprises an elongated band supporting said pouch along its length.
12. Apparatus as recited in claim 1 wherein said support comprises a pair of elongated band members, each having a distal and proximate end with said bands joined to each other at said respective distal and proximate ends to form a yoke surrounding and supporting said pouch member, said yoke having a distal end and a proximate end formed at the respective joints of said distal and proximate ends of said bands.
13. Apparatus as recited in claim 12 wherein said distal and proximate ends of said yoke each comprise a land area extending from one of said bands toward the other, said distal and proximate ends of said pouch member secured to respective ones of said lands.
14. Assembly as recited in claim 3 wherein said filter is located at said proximate end of said support and wherein said assembly further comprises a stand off member extending from said distal end of said support member.
15. Assembly as recited in claim 14 wherein said proximate end of said support comprises a stand off member. |
